PROJECT OBJECTIVEProvide the Atascadero Unified School District with a new bus and small vehicle maintenance, storage, and administration facility. PROJECT DESCRIPTIONRavatt Albrecht & Associates led the design team in the Maintenance, Operations, and Transportation (MOT) Center Master Plan development of a six-acre site located at the San Benito Elementary School. The $5.1 million MOT Center included a 3,700 sq. ft. administration building, a 4,320 sq. ft. bus maintenance building, a bus wash platform, a fueling facility, paving, landscaping, and connections to city utilities. Work included development of a three-phase schedule for the project. Because the project was partially funded from developer school fees and partially by a State grant, Ravatt Albrecht & Associates developed funding and budget scenarios, then helped coordinate the distribution of these funds between the multiple projects and phases. In order to gain project approval, Ravatt Albrecht & Associates coordinated with the School Board and adjacent neighborhoods, scheduling and facilitating public facilitation. Working with the client, Ravatt Albrecht & Associates managed the site work consultants, including botanical, biological, and archeological site students, as well as coordination with the civil engineer on the Storm Water Management Plan. The result is a new bus ad small vehicle maintenance, storage, and administration facility that meets school district demands and budgets.
