PROJECT OBJECTIVE

To modernize, enhance comfort, and update accessibility of an existing gymnasium facility.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

RA provided design work to modernize the existing 1965 gymnasium. They replaced the existing rooftop mechanical heating and cooling systems with new ground-mounted air-conditioning condensers and up-draft gas furnaces within an ornamental fence enclosure. The design team connected a new path around the fenced enclosure to the upgraded parking lot per current Title 24 accessibility standards. Soon the existing fixed/operable glazing, which was painted over and covered, will be replaced with a translucent day light system to reintroduce natural light into the gym.
