PROJECT OBJECTIVERenovate existing shopping center after it was damaged in a fire. PROJECT DESCRIPTIONRavatt Albrecht & Associates redesigned and acted as general contractor for the redevelopment of the well-known Jack’s Restaurant Shopping Center after much of it had been destroyed in a fire. Work included gutting and reconstructing the historic-inspired new façade and reinforcing the existing under-reinforced, concrete block structure (originally constructed in the 1960’s) by re-sheathing the roof diaphragm, anchoring ledgers to the masonry walls, and securing new steel moment frames to the building.
