PROJECT OBJECTIVE

Restore and renovate a historic landmark and provide seismic and accessible upgrades to meet current codes

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Riverside celebrated a ribbon cutting and reopened their crown jewel theater.  The building was deemed a national historic structure by the National Register of Historic Buildings in March 1978. The City of Riverside hired the Design Build Team of Stronghold Engineering as the Contractor and Ravatt Albrecht as the Architect to do an extensive exterior and interior historic restoration and seismic retrofit of this 53,000 sf facility.  The entire interior was refurbished following the State guidelines for Historic Preservation.  The project included renovation of the basement level exhibition hall, first story and mezzanine auditorium, stage, lobby, dressing rooms, and restrooms.  The facility was designed to meet the requirements for current seismic and accessibility code.
