PROJECT OBJECTIVERepair interior spaces in a portion of Wing 8, Building 5 and to construct a second floor interior mezzanine. PROJECT DESCRIPTIONRavatt Albrecht & Associates repaired interior spaces of Wing 8, Building 5 and constructed a second floor interior mezzanine within Michelson Laboratory at Naval Air Weapons Station, China Lake. Originally constructed in 1945, the work included serious, safe removal of asbestos containing material (both class l and class ll) and lead based paint or lead materials while the space was still occupied. The project was completed successfully in 6 months by carefully scheduling work in connection with the existing operation needs. The result is an upgraded, safe building with existing floors, walls, and roof build with reinforced concrete construction.
